Concert Hourglass
The Concert Hourglass is a wonderful performance dulcimer. Built on the same mold as the other models in the Concert Series, it is slightly shallower in the rib than the Swan or the Concert Grand. Yet it still has the overall body length and width in the bouts of the Concert Series, giving it an authority on the stage. The Concert Hourglass is unornamented, making it an excellent choice for performers or studio artists who do not desire the visual presence yet want something of the voice of the Concert Series instruments.
The Concert Hourglass is similar to the Sunhearth AD-4 and Lorraine Lee models, but has more depth of voice, volume, and projection. To listen to a Sunhearth Lorraine Lee, go to the Music Selections Page and look for selections featuring the Concert Hourglass.

The instrument features the Concert Series scroll head carving. The leaf motif in the Concert Series peghead is a recent development, funded by a generous commission for a recent client.
The Concert Series scroll tailpiece features ebony appointments: string pins set in an ebony bed, end cap, and a string bridle. The string bridle increases the break angle of the strings behind the bone saddle, opening up the voice considerably.
Special commissions are available for all Bear Meadow Dulcimers. The Concert Hourglass is particularly amenable to special commissions, due to its concert size and lower cost. Pictured at left is a special commission Concert Hourglass.
