Peer Review and Merge

When you have checked in all your changes, the next step is to select a peer to review your work. You may select someone who is familiar with the technology of your work or your Project Leader. Less often, someone who is not familiar with your work may be chosen, if necessary.

Here is what your reviewer will need from you:

• First, make sure all your changes are checked in, so the reviewer has access to them from outside your view.
• Compose a merge request. This will become the mail you send to the merger facility, and will have all the information you need to give the reviewer. A sample merge request looks like this. Forward this mail to your reviewer.
• That's it. Sit back and wait for the kudos to roll in praising your work. When the reviewer is done, he or she will paste your merge request into a new message and mail it to the merge facility.
