The hard-shell case that is offered for Bear Meadow Appalachian Dulcimers is made in our studio

The case is custom-designed to each model's dimensions, and fits its dulcimer like a jewel case clad in Tolex vinyl, a dark emerald green reminiscent of the old Pullman Car Green. The sides are made of basswood, top and bottome of aspen plywood.

The case features gig pocket (two for the Concert Series, one for the Standard Series). These feature positive magnetic push-release/push-latch mechanisms with hand-made brass hardware. Hinges are of the tough Tolex vinyl used for the exterior case protection.

The latches, were chosen to be uniquely servicable, attractive and rugged. They are imported from The Netherlands, made of cast aluminum, with a polished nickel finish. They do not let go until fully opened, preventing many a dulcimer spill!
